As a second-year intern at Alaska Northstar Resources (ANR), Dylan Stokes makes the most of every opportunity. Throughout his internships, Dylan supported cloud migration applications, built a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) using AWS, and tracked cost, schedule, and performance metrics for client projects—all while gaining real-world experience in agile workflows and project management.

“I was tasked with creating a VPC in AWS using CloudFormation. It was a challenging experience, but it pushed me to develop strong problem-solving skills—an essential ability in any field. This project gave me a solid foundation as I transitioned into college and future career opportunities.”
From daily SCRUM meetings to hands-on development in AWS and navigating IDEs, Dylan continues to gain critical technical and professional skills. Most importantly, he found a supportive culture at ANR that made asking questions and learning feel easy.
“This internship far exceeded my expectations. It played a significant role in my decision to pursue a career in tech, which I hadn’t previously considered.”
We’re proud to be part of Dylan’s professional journey and are excited to see what he does next.
